Brenda Ball is a nursing education specialist at ATI Nursing Education.
Ball, who has more than 16 years experience in nursing and education, joined ATI in 2009. She began her career as a nursing supervisor or director for an ambulatory surgery center. From there, Ball spent most of her career in the acute care setting specializing in telemetry, medical-surgical, emergency room, intensive care unit, and inpatient rehabilitation. She acted as a clinical resource nurse while working these specialty areas, training new employees and nursing students while in their clinical rotation. Ball currently practices at St. Luke's Hospital and has been there for more than 9 years. She has served on several hospital committees during her career. Ball has also been a Director of Staff Development where she developed a mentor program for employees. She is CPR, ACLS and CPR instructor certified.
Ball earned her bachelor's degree in Nursing and master's in Education with an emphasis in Mentoring from Mid America Nazarene University.
Sharon Redding is a nursing education specialist at ATI Nursing Education. She is involved in the development of nursing assessments, clinical simulations and related educational materials, as well as providing assistance to nurse educators from programs across the country.
Redding has extensive experience in both nursing education and practice. She joined ATI after having taught in associate and baccalaureate, as well as graduate nursing programs, as a faculty member for 25 years. Her areas of emphasis include pediatric and maternal-newborn nursing and health assessment. Her nursing practice experiences have included working with various international healthcare organizations in Africa and Brazil and she was a Peace Corps volunteer. She has led undergraduate and graduate semester abroad programs and worked on projects for World Health Organization and Project HOPE.
Redding completed the undergraduate nursing program at the University of Nebraska, obtained her master's of nursing from the University of Washington and has a doctoral degree from College of Saint Mary.
Lois Churchill is a nursing education specialist at ATI Nursing Education.
Churchill, who has more than 30 years of experience in nursing education and joined ATI in 2009. Before that, she was associate director of Nursing Practice for the Iowa Board of Nursing and also served as the bureau chief of Professional Licensure for the Iowa Department of Public Health. She also has been a faculty member and assistant dean for ADN and PN nursing programs, and currently serves as the public member on the Kansas Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Churchill earned a master's degree in Nursing from Wichita State University.
She currently enjoys creating content, helping students pass the NCLEX exam, and helping universities improve their nursing curriculum.
Karin Roberts is nursing education coordinator at ATI Nursing Education.
Roberts, who has more than 30 years of experience in nursing education, was director of the Accelerated Nursing Program for second degree students at Research College of Nursing in Kansas City, Mo., before joining ATI in 2008. Before that, she was a professor at the school and actively participated in its transition from diploma education to baccalaureate and graduate education. She has extensive expertise in instructional strategies, curriculum development and online teaching, and currently serves as a CCNE accreditor.
Roberts earned her doctoral degree in Education with a focus in curriculum and instruction, as well as her bachelor's and master's degrees in Nursing, from the University of Kansas. Her initial associate's degree was from Kansas City Kansas Community College.
